Immersive summer workshop/Experimental painting/collage
Raadvad 50, 2800 Kongens Lyngby
30 July — 3 August, **5 days 10am-4pm all days. **
Experimental painting and collage, interior landscapes
Immersive summer workshop, Nature's pigments and structures in interaction with the sensuous interior and exterior landscape. Smoothed colors and fabric similarities. We have a large beautiful natural area where the wilder experiments can take place and wonderful breaks at Mølleåen and new inspiration can be found.
Dive in and explore new combinations of natural pigments, combination with nature materials such as ash and the finest ink colors.
We have to work pouring and doing experiments in our outdoor studio right down to the mill creek with big tables to work on.
It is a guided process of short and longer freeing, meditative observational drawing and painting exercises.
There are works exploring different ways to make textures, colors vibrate and live.
We work with the glossy surfaces against the matte, transparent layers and fabric similarities, from the very light light and ethereal to the darkest depths. We mix exquisite acrylic inks from Schminke, with ash paints and gouaches to achieve beautiful deep colors in combination with oil pastels, dry pastels and pencils etc.
You will learn to work with compositions into the abstract or more figurative and to evoke the expression and mood you want to bring out with various mixed media techniques.
We find inspiration from abstract forms from nature's treasure trove of patterns, faces and lines from e.g. fragments of bark, shells, moss etc. We also use nature photographs of landscapes and observations from nature around us.
There will be many different paper grades to use.
There is also the possibility that we enjoy an evening by the sea together with a drawing board and some food, maybe we will have a lunch at Raadvad inn...

About Sofie Børsting
